Would you like to get to know other members outside of cycling while also contributing to the club? Then joining a committee might be perfect for you! In a group of 5 to 10 enthusiastic members, you’ll work on something that suits you and get to know other members well outside of cycling too. This overview shows the current committees, along with a description of the tasks you can expect.
PromoCie
Do you enjoy taking photos, working on websites, designing posters, or managing social media? The ProMoCie handles everything related to the promotion of the association. This committee also helps other committees that need promotional materials. Whatever your specialty, you can unleash all your creativity within the PromoCie!
Acquisition Committee
This might be one of the most important committees. WTOS organizes many activities and races that cost money. To keep entry fees and annual contributions low, it is essential to find sponsors for these events. If you enjoy connecting with companies and making our events possible, then the Acquisition Committee is for you!
Activities Committee
The Activities Committee organizes fun activities throughout the year. Think of a dinner exchange, a visit to the pancake boat, surfing, and much more. As a member of this committee, you’ll help brainstorm and organize these activities, and you can count on a lot of fun!
Corsa Committee
The Corsa is WTOS’s club magazine that is published twice a year. The committee ensures that each edition is packed with great stories, reports, and photos. These range from race reports to fantastic stories about cycling trips, favorite recipes, and more. We also interview well-known cyclists, WTOS members who have cycled abroad, and companies. The committee uses its imagination and creativity to deliver a beautiful Corsa each time!
Women’s Committee
The Women’s Committee advocates for the interests of WTOS women. Together, we organize activities such as a high tea, tour rides, wellness days, and more! Ladies only 😉
Mountain Bike Committee
The Mountain Bike Committee represents the interests of mountain bikers and cyclocross riders within WTOS. The committee provides a weekly mountain bike training session on one of the beautiful trails in the area and organizes transportation to off-road rides. They also organize an annual weekend away for all mountain bikers.
Training Committee
The Training Committee helps members prepare for races or simply get in better shape by designing and leading technique training sessions. In the winter, for example, you organize interval or track training and weekend rides. Do you have cycling knowledge you’d like to share with other members, or do you enjoy planning great routes? Join this fun committee!
Race Committee (WedCie)
The WedCie is responsible for organizing all internal WTOS races (such as club championships) and time trials. The committee also organizes events like the Student Cup in Delft, a regional cyclocross, and a Sunday morning race. They handle race venues, timekeeping, prizes for winners, event safety, and, if necessary, arrange a jury vehicle and course markers.
Weekend Committee
The Weekend Committee organizes the introductory weekend and the KMK (introduction camp). We might go to places like Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Nijmegen, the Ardennes, or the Eifel. On these weekends, members can get to know each other better by cycling together in a new environment and, of course, sharing stories over a beer by the campfire in the evening.
AmbiCie
The AmbiCie is a brand new committee that will organize participation in external races. Last year, for instance, many members participated in a climbing race in Limburg and took part in a Gran Fondo in the Vosges. This year, we want to participate in even more exciting races with WTOS, and with this committee, you’ll help plan a great day or weekend for WTOS racers!
DiesCie
The DiesCie organizes a week every year dedicated to celebrating WTOS’s anniversary. During the Dies Week, parties and fun training sessions are held. This committee is for you if you enjoy working towards a project and coming up with creative activities.
Vacation Committee (VakanCie)
Each year, members can go on holiday with the association. We often visit a beautiful cycling area, like the Pyrenees or the Alps. The committee plans a fantastic week for other members, arranging transportation, accommodation, and an exciting program.
Other Committees
In addition to the committees mentioned above, there are often temporary committees. For example, this year WTOS is organizing the National Student Time Trial Championship, and a dedicated committee is working hard on that. There is also a committee that organizes WTOS’s participation in the OWee every year. No matter where your talents lie, there is always a fun committee at WTOS that suits you!
